Athletics/Extracurriculars Board Report
Submitted by: Rachel Merrill, Athletic Director
Date: 9/24/2025
Thank you for your dedication to the success of Carrabec athletics and extracurricular activities! Additional thanks to Superintendent Campbell, Principal Dostie, and Operations Director Roux for all of the assistance and support they consistently provide. We have received many compliments from officials and community members on the outstanding condition of our soccer field at Carrabec High School.
Special thanks to our transportation department, administrative assistants, and coaching staff for their follow-through with the many details that are required to represent our schools well. With Board approval, Coach PJ Vicneire will function as head coach for our boys varsity soccer team for the remainder of the season.
Carrabec High School has the opportunity to join a virtual athletic training program through MaineGeneral Sports Medicine at no cost. The program offers professional guidance to student athletes who experience sports-related injuries through virtual meetings with MaineGen trainers and sports doctors during rehabilitation, recovery, and return-to-play.
All schools are now required to have an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for athletic events that occur outside of the typical school day. The EAP is designed to be shared with officials and coaching staff on site during athletic contests. The EAP focuses on response to emergency situations and serves to inform visitors of protocols for site evacuation and/or emergency shelter.
Many parents and local businesses have donated funds to provide lights for our home soccer games on October 7. Homecoming enthusiasm continues to build and the varsity soccer games have been rescheduled to play under the lights. Students involved in our rec programs have been invited to our girls’ pre-game, where we will recognize all of our athletes and highlight our seniors.
