Re: Athletic Director’s June Report

I am very pleased to announce we are having a very successful spring sports season at CHS. We had baseball, boys’ tennis, and softball teams qualify for the playoffs. Our track team had eight individuals qualify for the state track meet on June 1st. 

Our baseball team finished the season with six wins and seven losses and will finish in either sixth or seventh place in the heal points. They will have a quarterfinal playoff game most likely on June 5th. Our softball team finished the season with a very impressive eleven wins and only five losses. They will most likely host a playoff game as the fourth seed. Once we know the opponent, a date and time will be determined. The boys’ tennis team qualified as the eighth seed in the MPA tournament and will travel to Boothbay on June 4th. 

We were very excited that we had a couple of parent volunteers step up to bring a group of middle school students to a track meet. Unfortunately we were unable to hire a track coach for CCS this year. Chris and Georgiana Manzer volunteered to take students interested to the track meet on Wednesday, May 29th at Madison. For most of these students this was their first experience with track. The Manzers worked with the high school track coaches over the last couple of weeks getting the students prepared.
