Cheetah Fun Facts!
Cheetahs can run up to 75 mph, making them the world's fastest animal!
Cheetahs can survive 10 days without water. This is because they hydrate from the moisture from the bodies of their prey.
Cheetahs only hunt during dusk and dawn. This is to avoid competition with nocturnal animals.
Unlike other big cats, cheetahs can't roar. They can only meow, purr, and chirp.
The vernacular name "cheetah" is derived from Hindustani Urdu: چیتا and Hindi: चीता (ćītā).[5] This in turn comes from Sanskrit: चित्रय (Chitra-ya) meaning 'variegated', 'adorned' or 'painted'.
