Wind Ensemble Auditions
Wind Ensemble Auditions for 2025-2026
All woodwind, brass and percussion musicians that will be attending Tesoro HS in the 25-26 school year are eligible, and encouraged to audition for our most advanced band class, the Wind Ensemble.
The audition will include performing several excerpts. The audition will also include three parts:
2 Scales from the provided scale list
Required Excerpts
Sight Reading
Auditions will be held May 5th-8th 3:45-7:00pm. Current students will audition during class time on these same days.
If you have any conflicts, all make up auditions will be during Titan Time - see Miss Do to schedule, if needed.
ALL Wind Ensemble auditions MUST be completed by Thursday, May 8th, 2025.

WIND ENSEMBLE AUDITION (For current Concert Band students & 8th grade students)
For students in concert band that would like to audition for Wind Ensemble, this audition will also count as your final exam.
For 8th grade and incoming students, this will count towards your Wind Ensemble audition.
Students will perform LIVE, individually, during designated audition time slots at Tesoro HS.
All excerpts and scales will be expected to be played at the listed tempo.
Sightreading may be taken at any tempo that is comfortable for the player, however accuracy in all aspects will be included in the audition process.

Sightreading will be given at audition. **Instruments that have more than 2 excerpts in their audition materials will NOT have sight reading.
