Students researched symbols from around the world (including Maya, Adinkra, Astrology, Incan etc) and they combined 3 of them to describe their personality.
Food and memories are very closely connected. The students discussed food that evokes positve memories. They then chose their favorite, sketched it out, and then painted them.
The students learned about the sculptor and his famous humanoid metal sculptures and their shadow castings. With this as inspiration, they then designed and sculpted a wire structure based on a pose that represents something about them. After that, they wrapped the structure with plaster gauze and set it in the sun to dry. They painted it a bright color to cast shadows in the garden sunlight.
Inspired by graphic design, the students chose an image that means something special to create their final art piece. They then framed it and chose a word to symbolize what the image means to them.
