Inquiry Question: How is student voice amplified through the Arts?
Overview: Over the course of the year, students in our group voted to create a Creative Writing Club! The students engaged in storytelling as a group, and comic book making based on those stories. They created an audiobook clip to accompany part of the comic book and t-shirts to advertise the Creative Writing Club featuring a student-crafted logo! The students also created illustrations for their persona takes on classic fairy tales. Using the North Grand Makers Space assisted greatly with bringing these creative endeavors to reality.
NOTE: One Question/Effect that has proved impossible to capture/document here is…
How do we document ephemeral moments that cannot or were not documented for various reasons and had just as much importance as the usual process-oriented photos/ documentation? Ie: peer conversation time, impromptu dance parties, sharing one’s day, 'non-CAPE' teacher involvement, homework help etc.
All of which occurred during our time together at North Grand.

Students create and begin work on a Creative Writing Club t-shirt design!
Using the Makers Space, the students use a laser printer, and then etch out the t-shirt design to be placed on the fabric.
