About Nozawa Onsen

Nozawa Onsen is a town known for its natural hot-spring baths and ski resort in the northern part of the Nagano prefecture. There are 13 traditional-style public baths which are maintained by the local community and free to the public.

The town really comes alive in winter when visitors arrive to enjoy the town's excellent ski resort. The resort hosted the biathlon events during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and is tourist friendly with English menus, maps and signs. It is one of the best places in Japan to combine great skiing with a traditional Japanese onsen town experience.
