About Minakami

Located just 70 minutes by shinkansen from Tokyo, Minakami is a hidden gem situated in Gunma Prefecture. Thanks to its wild rivers, mountains and valleys, Minakami has become one of the leading outdoor adventure meccas in all of Japan with a wide variety of activities, including whitewater rafting, canyoning and bungee jumping during the spring and summer months, as well world-class skiing and snowboarding, with a choice of many snow resorts and backcountry options in the area. Since it is located further inland, Gunma snow is considered drier than in Niigata and Nagano making the resorts near Minakami well known for the quality and volume of snow. 

Outdoor education ski trips are the main work and Hodaigi Ski Resort will be the main resort you will be working at.  The uncrowded resort is the perfect size resort to take school groups and has a little bit of terrain for everyone, with terrain suited for beginner, intermediates and advanced riders. 

If you are looking to experience real japan life with plenty of options for your skiing, and your main focus is not a lively night town and loves working with children, Minakami might be the best place for you.
