Meet the managers

Amber is the Ski School Director at Nozawa Onsen. She did her first ever winter season for Canyons in 2017 and has been doing back to back winters ever since, bringing her vast knowledge from seasons around the world to Japan.

With Nozawa being the largest ski school at Canyons, Amber values building exceptional team dynamics for her staff while simultaneously providing excellent guest experiences.

Vladan is the Operations Manager at Canyons Myoko. Originally from Serbia, Vlad has lived and worked mostly in Aspen, Colorado, along with time spent across US and European winter resorts, Argentina, and more recently in on the sunny side of the Alps in Slovenia. He holds a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and is a fully certified ski instructor, coach, ski school manager, and experienced hospitality manager. Additionally, he won a world championship in synchronized skiing at Vail.

His love for the job, mountains and the sport, along with his concern for others, has been a key part of his lifelong experience. He cares deeply about every guest, colleague, employee, andcommunity member. He is passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge with others and helping guests experience alpine activities to the fullest. He aims to use his international experience, enthusiasm, and love for skiing to Myoko to help create memorable experiences for all guests.

Jarec is the Operations Manager in Shiga Kogen. Originally from Chile, he started out mountaineering, before discovering a love for skiing and adventure. He arrived in japan for the first time in 2019, and has spent years immersed in it's beautiful culture. He is passionate about snowsports and the white science within.

Jarec has worked in the international tourism environment, including Patagonia, the Alps, and Japan, Since 2010, Developing high standards for safety and customer service.

He prioritizes his staff, ensuring they have opportunities to grow professionally and develop skills that support both their careers and personal futures.  

Ignacio is the Operations Manager at Canyons Yuzawa. Originally from Chile, skiing has been part of his life since he was three years old, growing up on the slopes of La Parva. He's been instructing there since 2012, picking up seasons in Andorra and Japan along the way, and on his own time he moves between freeride, ski touring, racing, telemark and monoski — for him it's less about the discipline than about being out on the mountain.

Now Operations Manager at Canyons Yuzawa, he brings the same mindset to the job: a ski trip is more than the hours spent on snow, and his focus is on making sure guests leave with something worth coming back for.
