Heights learning Center: Some students qualify for district provided transportation as part of their Individual Education Program (IEP). There are 4-5 small buses that drop off and pick up students who qualify. The buses are on a tight schedule and need to be given priority. There will be a designated area for buses in the through lane of the parking lot. Cars may not park beyond the signage that designates this area. If you are in line in the through lane of the parking lot and you notice a bus stuck behind you, you must continue driving through to allow the bus to pass, and then circle back around.
Papermaker Classroom at CHS: The buses that deliver students who are eligible to Camas High School will pull up right to the curb in front of the enclosed playground outside of the preschool classroom. There is a designated bus lane in front of Camas High School where no cars can park. A staff member will greet them at the bus and then walk them through the gate to the classroom. When it is time to go, a staff member will deliver them back to the bus.
Heights Learning Center Campus: Family transportation is required for all students who do not qualify for the bus on an IEP. When arrive on campus you will need to park and walk your child to their classroom door. There are two designated areas to cross the parking lot safely. There is a painted cross walk on the south end of the lot where you can follow the sidewalk up to the building. There is also a designated spot marked by two neon green caution people with flags at the north end of the parking lot. For your safety, please do not cross at any other location in the bus zone, and never walk between buses. There will be an orange cone outside of your student's classroom with their teacher's name. This is where you will line up for drop off and pick up.
Papermaker Classroom at CHS: When dropping of your child at the Papermaker classroom you are welcome to park along the curb or in one of the visitor parking spaces located in the parking lot next to the preschool playground. Staff will open the playground gate and welcome students at the beginning of class. When it is time to pick up, the staff will bring them out to you.
The Heights Learning Center Campus: If you are running late, and your student arrives after class has started, please walk them to the office where a staff member will greet you and walk your student to class. You will know it is too late if the gates are shut and you do not see a staff member waiting outside. If you need to pick your child up early from class, please come to the main office first so we can assist you, with minimal interruption to the classroom. When possible, please let your teacher know in advance that you will be picking up early so we can have your student ready for you.
Papermaker Classroom at CHS: For all late arrivals or early pick-ups, please come through the playground gate and knock on the classroom door. A staff member will greet you as soon as possible. When possible, please let your teacher know in advance that you will be picking up early so we can have your child ready for you.
Childcare Drop-Off and Pick-up at The Height Learning Center
If your student will be attending childcare, you may continue to park in the through lane by the stairs and walk them to the childcare door throughout the day. We ask that you please do not drop off or pick up between 8:30-8:50, or 12:10-12:25. These will be the busiest times on our parking lot, and we need to reserve the curbside spots for buses, and the parking spaces for students who are arriving for class.
