School Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Policy

Schools promote parental involvement and participation in several ways, including the development of the school parent and family engagement policy.  Annually, parents should review and provide input and feedback on the PFE that describes how the school will carry out the requirements of Section 1116(c) through 1116(f).  The parents involved in the review and revision process should be representative of all student populations.  The school disseminates the PFE policy to parents and the public, via the school's web site and other means, as needed to ensure that it is readily available .  (Element 3,6 )

Student Parent School Compact

Schools provide parents with the Student Parent School Compact and the following information:  description and explanation of the curriculum and academic content standards in use at the school; description and explanation of the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress; description and explanation of how achievement towards academic standards are determined; and opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and participate in decisions related to the education of their children.  Schools seek input from parents, and representatives of the school's population, in the revision of a school-parent compact that outlines the shared responsibilities and the development of partnerships to help children achieve the state's high standards and contains all the elements of 1116(d).  (Element 3,6)

Parent Advisory Council Meetings (PAC 1)

Annual schoolwide meeting for all grade levels and parents held in the first twenty days of school.  During this meeting, parents and families will have the opportunity to learn about Title I funding and how the funds are used at your school.  Funds may be used to supplement the educational program in an effort to ensure all students have access to a high-quality education with highly qualified teachers, using evidence-based- and research-based programs and strategies, and by engaging parents, families, and communities in education.  (Elements 1, 5, 6
