Built into Senior Practicum was training on health and safety practices to follow as a teacher. The slides here are not my own, but show what I learned in this class. Some of the topics represented include avoiding, cleaning, and disinfecting colds and the flu, lice, chicken pox, and hand-foot-and-mouth disease. Knowing these things will allow me to better protect the students I teach and be prepared to address issues as they arise.

Districts and schools may provide specific information and/or instructions for some kinds of infectious diseases. This has become especially relevant in the last two years with the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers should be aware of the information being provided by the school or district and pass it on to students an parents when appropriate.
While in Senior Practicum at Madison Middle School, the district made multiple announcements about COVID-19. Following the school's website is one way to keep track of this information, as seen in this snapshot of the district's website. (Click on the picture for more information.)
