What to do if someone is having a Seizure
· STAY CALM
· Protect the student’s head either by gently cradling or place something soft under it
· Call me x 3011: Tell me the student’s name and the room number where the student is located.
· Do not try to put anything in the mouth
· Do not restrain the movements of the extremities
· Be observant: time started, how long seizure lasted, type of movement and what parts of the body involved, any color changes
· If the student should vomit, roll the student onto their side
I want to reiterate that I am in the building all of the school day. If I am not in my office, call 3004 or 3005, Eldora or Donna will get me.
I am not aware of any adults in this building that have a seizure disorder therefore if an adult has a seizure, call 911 and call me. Follow the same steps of care.
