Mission Statement:
The mission of the Mt. Hope High School Library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:
- by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
- by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.

Goals:
As Library/Media Specialist, my professional goals are aligned with the FutureReady Librarians Framework and are:
- To empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information
- To instill a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information
- To collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assess student learning and instructional effectiveness
- To provide the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the school library program (SLP) is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and the school district, and is an integral component of the learning/instructional program
Vision:
The Mt. Hope High School Library should be a learning commons where students will demonstrate mastery of academic competencies with the knowledge and skills necessary to be collaborative, complex, critical thinkers. Empowered with voice and choice, students will be provided with challenging and personalized learning opportunities that are inquiry driven and standards aligned. In collaboration, teachers and librarians will leverage technology to enhance and support instruction, delivering content in innovative ways to foster deeper, more authentic learning, while preparing students for success in work and life in the 21st Century.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday
8:00-2:40 pm* and 2:40-5:15 through the Extended Day Program
Pass Policy:
Students need a signed Mt. Hope High School pass to enter the library.
Structured Resource Center teachers can send 8 students from study hall on the SRC | Library Pass. If more than 8 students want to come to the library, call the library (x3241 or x3236) to see if there is room for additional students.

Library Reservations:
If you would like to bring your class to the library or library classroom, please use LibCal, our online reservation system and complete the Library Visit Planning Form available on the library’s website.
Husky Hub:
- Students can come to the library if they have a lost, broken, or forgotten chromebook
- Chromebooks are available for checkout (daily use only)
- We DO NOT reset student passwords
- Faculty/Staff IT related questions need to be directed to IT Staff - please submit a Spiceworks ticket through the Spiceworks App via Clever, by calling x5200, or emailing ithelpdesk@bwrsd.org
Circulation Policy:
Books and other library materials are checked out for a 28 day loan period. Overdue notices are not printed - they are emailed.
Library Catalog:
The library’s online public access catalog (OPAC) is available on the library’s website and from the Follett RICAT (Mt. Hope) app available on LaunchPad.
Interlibrary Loan:
Interlibrary loan is available. We belong to RILINK a statewide school library network and have borrowing privileges from other school libraries in the state through RICAT our online public access catalog (OPAC).
