Yes, successful schools must begin their work with a strong vision of transformative teaching and learning with technology. There are, however, key leadership moves that must be taken throughout the process to ensure that this vision become a reality. In this session, we will explore how strong budgeting practices and the development of a systemic digital learning infrastructure is foundational to this change. One of the topics we will explore are the logistics of conducting, funding, and scaling educational technology pilots that support classroom innovation.

Mario J. Andrade, Ed.D. is an educational practitioner who has had over 20 years experience in private and public education. He has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, a Master of Science in Special Education from Simmons College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Andrade has held a variety of administrative positions in public education. He has been the Assistant Principal at Newport Public Schools, Principal at Central Falls Public School, the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Bristol Warren Regional School District and is currently the Superintendent of the Bristol Warren Regional School District. Under Dr. Andrade’s leadership cultivating a Future Ready District, the Bristol Warren Regional School District was accepted into the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, a national network of forward-thinking leaders.

Rose Muller's Bio

Rose started her career in education as a social studies teacher and became a computer teacher after she earned her Masters degree in Computers in Education from DeSales University. She then became a Technology Director in Rhode Island and has worked in this capacity for twelve years. Rose served as the Treasurer and President of the Rhode Island Institute of Technology Educators (RISTE) organization, is a recipient of the Data Quality Award and the Making IT Happen Award. Currently, she is privileged to lead a team of professionals who are dedicated in ensuring that Bristol Warren Regional School District is Future Ready. Rose is a candidate for the Certificate of Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Educational Leadership at Bridgewater State University.
