Armed with devices, digital tools and a growth mindset, how do you get the experience of blending your instruction off the ground? How does blended learning differ from what you are doing now?

Starting small is the key. But what does that look like? How will you tweak your current management? Where is the shift in content delivery? How do you prepare yourself to “let go?” We’ll discuss the most ideal approaches that fit your unique classroom environment. Whether your students are 1st or 5th grade, blended learning at the elementary level is about taking advantage of their genuine enthusiasm, honest feedback and thirst for learning something new. After all, you’ll be learning the process together.

Kyle Wilson is a veteran teacher in Burrillville, RI. After ten years teaching fourth grade, he is now a sixth grade math teacher at Burrillville Middle School. His experience includes blended learning implementation at the most fundamental levels across all elementary subjects. His passion has evolved in the ways we teach kids to blend and why it's important for them to know the why? Kyle was a member of the first cohort of Fuse RI Fellows. In addition to being a Level 1 & Level 2 Google Certified Educator, he holds a B.S. from the University of Rhode Island, an M.A.T. from Roger Williams University and a Certificate in Blended & Personalized Learning Coaching. He lives in North Kingstown with his wife and three daughters.
