Long story short...the state says you need your password changed. Here are the rules:
It must be at least 15 characters long
It will need to be changed every 180 days from now on
You can only change your password from a Windows Machine located on a school network (Chromebooks won't work this time...)
If you do not currently have access to a school workstation, see below on how to put in a help ticket and we can change it for you.
Now we can waste lots of time debating why do I have to?, this is a waste of time, yada yada....or I can walk you through it and you can get on with your life.
(KDE says it has to happen, so continuing to discuss this is very similar to shaking your fist at an oncoming tornado...which Butler County Schools strongly advises you NOT to do...but if you do in fact shake your fist at an oncoming tornado, take pictures and send to jimmy.felty@butler.kyschools.us)
Steps to Change Password:
Log onto a Windows Computer
After you have successfully logged on, hold down the CTRL, ALT, and DELETE keys all at the same time
A blue screen should come up, "Change a Password" should be one of the choices on the blue screen
After choosing "Change a Password", you have to type your old password, then your new password in the boxes
To make the password stick, DO NOT HIT CANCEL at the bottom of the screen, you have to hit the little arrow button right next to the second time you entered the new password.
Bask in the glory of your Technological Prowess. If you find that your password hasn't changed, or you are locked out, put in a help ticket here: HELPDESK LINK note that if we have lots of folks who flub this up, it may take a bit to get yours reset. If you include in the help ticket what you want your password to be, we can reset it to that. If you don't, you'll have to do this again after we get you reset.
