The banana in the Basket
Johnny was walking through the kitchen, grabbing a quick snack. Johnny thought that his life would be much worse once his wife, Petunia, went to live with his brother Jimmy. Johnny sighed.
All he could do now is munch to his heart's desire. He looked down to the counter where a few peaceful fruits were resting in a basket. There was an apple, an orange, and a banana. Johnny licked his lips. He loved bananas.
“Johnny loves bananas!” Johnny said hungrily.
But just before he was able to grasp it, the banana jumped up and said, “HEY, YOU–YOU CAN’T EAT ME BAD, BAD JOHNNY!”
Johnny jumped up and ran away to his room screaming.
Later, as Johnny was going to sleep in bed, he started contemplating what had happened that day, as he had not left his room since he ran from the banana. He decided that he was a grown man and he would not be scared of one small banana, so he got out of bed and went to the kitchen.
When he reached the kitchen, it was really dark. He’d never really put much effort into his house, so he had no good lighting anywhere except his room. He looked in the basket the banana had first been in, but it wasn’t there.
He checked the cupboard, it wasn’t there.
“This banana is harder to find than Johnny thought,” Johnny said slowly.
Suddenly, he thought he heard footsteps behind him. He pretended he didn’t hear anything... until it was right behind him.
As he whirled around, he heard a strange voice say, “No more eating bananas!”
He saw a flash of yellow, then the world went black. Johnny was never seen again.
