Hi,
I doubt you remember me, considering how little I've done over these past three years. But I've come to say goodbye for the first, last, and only time.
I created this page to share my love of Minecraft; then after a while it became an afterthought, only working on it when I was asked, and often not to the greatest of my ability.
What I did create often failed, I found. The build competition, the suggestion form, the quiz, the interesting and questionable images. But do I really care?
I don’t know if I can give a straightforward answer to that question.
I feel now that I could and couldn’t have done more, but I can’t change that now, can I?
The question of who, if anyone, will replace me in my post has plagued me for a while; Will they continue my section the way I would, if at all?
Will it become Roblox Tips and Tricks? Or something else? Do I even really care? Does it even really matter in the grand scheme of things? Who am I to know...
For the likely single person who is reading this, I give you permission to take my place. To continue the page, and continue what little impact this has had on the school.
I joined as a comic artist in 6th grade. Which now I find ironic considering I made all of two comics both of which made little to no sense even to me, the author.
In the past I had made comics which were retellings of events that had happened at home or school, starring myself in stick figure form along with a few family members and friends. None of these were submitted and published, however, despite them being categorized as “official BUGS comics” due to my membership in the 2022-2023 BUGS comic club.
After that, I started the Minecraft page which was the first video game themed page on the Hornet Headlines. The majority of the features added in that original run were kept through all three years, though unedited as I spent the majority of my time watching YouTube during the Hornet Headlines meetings.
After two years of that endeavor, I received a new job within the Hornet Headlines as a graphic designer for the website. Though I admit I could have done a bit better, the Home page did look a lot nicer after I gave it a flower background (I, once again, find this ironic as I have a fear of flowers).
I got a few art pieces published, organized a few unsuccessful events, made my final adjustments to the Minecraft page…
And here we are now.
The end of middle school for me.
So who will take my place? If anyone at all...
Sincerely,
Mia Hardiman, the former Hornet Headlines comic artist, website designer, and manager of the Minecraft tips and tricks page.

For long time readers of this very hidden section (I doubt there are any), this may seem like a new format for me. But, today, I'm taking a page out of Matpat's book and taking a crack at game theories.
Fossils in our world have been used traditionally to find where tectonic plates used to contact each other. This is done by looking at the fossilized remains of multiple species and then finding patterns (example provided). These fossils allowed us to make hypotheses, like the one in the image provided. This principle just happens to be one of my favorite applications of common logic in science, as well as just being cool.

So, you're probably wondering: How do geologic principles tie into Minecraft theories? Well, this particular theory of mine is almost entirely based around this principle of geology, just slightly more pixelated to say the least.
Fossils are generally an overlooked structure in Minecraft as nearly all of them are concealed in some way. However, the fact that they exist in the overworld at all can give us some possible insight into Minecraft's past.
So, here's my theory: the fossils in the overworld belong to Withers, and are there because of the large scale nether fauna invasion that took place during the timeline of Minecraft legends.
This theory is, of course, largely supported by the geologic principle I spoke about earlier. The fossils found in both the nether and the overworld share many similarities, including a rib-cage like structure and being relatively the same height (examples provided below).
Overworld Fossil
Nether Fossil
Human Rib Cage
Minecraft Wither
We already have confirmation from Mojang that Minecraft Legends takes place before the Minecraft base game, so it would stand to reason that this is how the fossils got here. On the Wither's design, their most prominent feature (other than their three heads) is, of course, their ribs. We can also tell that the Nether fossils are older, as there is much more visual damage to the overall skeletal structure bones; however, this could just be due to the overall harsher conditions of the nether.
What do you think? Are the fossils found in the overworld and nether from the same minecraft mob?
