Working with Text on a Chromebook
SELECTING TEXT
When you want to highlight a word, DOUBLE tap on the word.
When you want to highlight all of the text, TRIPLE tap to select all of the text.
I didn't know my chromebook could do that!
Select to Speak
Users can select specific portions of text to be read aloud.
How do I activate select-to-speak
At the bottom right, select the time or press Alt+Shift+s
Select Settings
On the left, select Advanced then Accessibility
In the Accessibility section, select Manage Accessibility Features
Under Text-to-Speech, turn on Enable select-to-speak
To select the text you would like to hear, highlight the text and press Search = 🔎 + s
Dictation
Did you know that your chromebook will dictate text in Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms and Google Classroom? WOW!!
How do I activate dication?
Click on the time.
Click on the gear icon to access settings.
Click on Advanced.
Click on Accessibility.
Click the toggle to turn Enable Dictation (speak to type).
How do I use dictation?
Open your file or program.
Click where you would like your text to appear.
Press 🔎 + d
Start speaking.
Your text will appear. 👍

How to rotate the screen or fix it when a student rotated and can't fix it! 😀
To rotate the screen back to the original position, simply press CTRL + Shift + Refresh button. Repeat until the screen is rotated back to its original position.
