Logging In and Rostering
Logging In - Teachers and students will log into Studies Weekly using Clever.
Go to the login screen - https://online.studiesweekly.com/login
Choose Login with Clever
Choose your BCS Google Account.
Login
**When students login, they will see an avatar on the right hand side of the screen. Under the avatar, students will see their class name. If you are assigning work through your Social Studies roster, make sure students are choosing the correct class to receive their work.
Rostering - Classes will be rostered through Clever and students will log in using Clever.
Setting Up Studies Weekly
Rearranging Grade Level Units - You can drag and drop units to put them in the order that matches your pacing guide. Move any “unneeded” units to the bottom of the list.
Turning Units On and Off- Teachers can hide and release units as you move through your pacing guide.
Assigning Publications to Your Class
- Log into Studies Weekly.
- Select Your Classes and choose your Social Studies class from the class list.
Select Publications.
Click on the Studies Weekly card for your grade level.
Each week available defaults to Visible to Students. You can toggle off all of the weeks and toggle back on the CURRENT WEEK.
Assign all items for that week to your class by click on the three dots and Share to Google Classroom.
Open the week to only assign specific elements.
Assessments
Online assessments for the weekly units are available in the teacher supplemental resources.
Navigate to the weekly unit.
Navigate to the Assessment for that week.
Open the Assessment.
Click EDIT.
Reorder Questions by dragging them to a different position.
Scroll to the bottom to add additional quesitions.
Click the Google Classroom icon to push assignment to Google Classroom.
Reporting Features
Studies Weekly provides teachers with various reports of online student activity. Teachers can see a summary of student online activity including last log in, average test score, highlighted items, coin totals, questions answered, etc..
Log Into Studies Weekly.
Click on Classes.
Select Your Class.
Select Reports.
Choose the report you want to view:
Weekly Assessment Score
Weekly Progress Report
Customized Content Report
Classroom Report
View Student Activity on Publications
Click on Publications
Open Unit from the Table of Contents
Select the Week.
This defaults to the student view. You can
Click GRADE to grade student questions.
Click HIGHLIGHTS to view student highlights.
Click STATISTICS to class progress on comprehension questions and how many coins were earned.
Click EDIT to
Reorder Questions
Provide additional instructions
Add Questions.
Navigating Online Articles
Click on the Reading Tab
Choose a Weekly Unit
Articles Subtab is available at the top
Available articles in the unit are listed on the left.
Tests/Games and other resources are on the bottom left.
Audio readers are available with articles.
Watch video button plays a video related to the article.
Bonus sources provide additional resources.
Leveled questions are available below the article.
Click collect rev coins to collect coins for completing the article.
Audio Reader & Highlights - SW provides an audio reader for every article. Text is highlighted while it is read. You can have read-to and read with support. If you only need a portion of the text read, highlight the text and choose the play button. Students are also able to highlight& annotate the text. Teachers can view student highlights and annotations.
Rewards for Learning: Managing Coins and Gems
Open your class.
Click on People
Click on the three dots beside the student's name.
Click Add Coins and add a teacher note about why the student has earned coins.
