Fluency Flight is active and available for all of your students. This tool will also be available to your classes next year. It is a fun and interactive tool to work alongside your efforts in the classroom and through their iReady path to achieve automaticity of essential math facts with understanding and without speed anxiety. Students should complete two primary Fluency Fact activities four days per week which will take roughly 8-10 minutes per day. The program will show four dragon statues that light up as students complete each day's two fluency activities. Once students demonstrate automaticity with all facts across all operations, their recommended usage will change to one day per week, for maintenance, and the program will show one dragon per week instead of four.
The Fluency Flight Student Report is now available in iReady. To access the new report, navigate to the Fluency Flight report for your class and click on a student's name.
The report will show:
Fluency Days Completed - Fluency Days Completed are days in which a student has finished two Fluency Flight activities. Most students will have a target of four Fluency Days per week; students who have achieved Automaticity in all facts will have a target of one Fluency Day per week.
Total Fluency Progress: Total Fluency Progress shows how a student is developing fact fluency across the four Fluency Stages for each operation:
Basic Understanding - Students can build mental models of facts using visualizations.
Accuracy - Students can solve facts accurately without a time requirement.
Automaticity - Students can solve facts accurately and quickly.
Maintenance - Students retain Automaticity of facts.
