Anneliese Dodds MP is the Member of Parliament for Oxford East and sits in the cabinet as Minister for International Development and the Minister for Women and Equalities. Elected as the Member of Parliament for Oxford East in 2017, she is known for her expertise in economics, commitment to social justice, and her thoughtful approach to policymaking.
Born in Aberdeen, Dodds studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at St Hilda's College, Oxford, before earning a PhD in public policy from the London School of Economics. She worked as an academic specializing in public policy and social inequality prior to her political career. She has written over twenty peer-reviewed articles and books, and has served as an invited Professor at universities in formerly war-torn Kosovo, where she was engaged in research on electricity supply- essential in a region where extreme energy poverty is normal.
She is speaking on the 6th Decmeber in her capacity as the MP for Oxford East and the work she is doing in the community to further leadership opportunities for women and ensuring safety for women and children.
