Maths

Yesterday in Maths we were learning about coins. Today we are going to be learning all about notes that we use in England when you go out shopping with your parents.

Here are some of the notes that we use. Can you recognise the different notes?

Have a go at completing the worksheets below.

Phonics/Reading

Go to the Phonics tab and practise your Set 2 and Set 3 sounds! Can you do them speedily without doing the action?

Please read a story to your family. You can choose to either read a book you have at home or go to the Online Books tab to choose a book to read or listen to.

Mosaics - design

Today year 1 we are going to be making mosaics!

A Mosaic is the art of decorating a surface with pictures and patterns made of little pieces of stone, glass or tiles of different colours. Mosaics can be used indoors on walls, floors and ceilings. Mosaics are sometimes used outdoors on pavements

To make our mosaics today, we are going to be using different pieces of coloured paper. To make your mosaics you will need to cut up small pieces of paper (of your favourite colours) to design your paper. The small pieces of paper should be square in shape. Are you going to have a pattern for your mosaic? What patterns are you going to create?
