We have been learning about the story of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Please read the shorter version of the story below.
Can you dress up in your clothes at home and act out the story pretending to be the different characters?
Perhaps you can make some props for your acting, such a flower for the love juice or crowns to act as King Oberon and Queen Titania.
In the enchanted woods of Dreams, the evening was warm and peaceful.
Unfortunately, the fairies were having problems. Queen Titania and King Oberon were having an argument over a little boy.
Oberon was furious so he decided to play a trick on Titania.
In another part of the wood, a group of workers were practicing a performance. Silly Bottom was being bossy and loud, upsetting all the fairies.
So, while Titania was sleeping, mischievous Puck sneaked up and put some magic love juice into her eyes. Next, he sneaked up to Bottom, and turned his head into a donkey.
Suddenly, the workers ran away screaming and all the noise woke up Titania. When she saw Bottom she instantly fell in love with him.
But when Oberon saw them, he became very jealous and told Puck to reverse the spell.
Oberon and Puck said sorry to Titania and she forgave them. They had a wonderful party and all the fairies were very happy again.
Alone in the enchanted wood, Bottom woke up under a tree. “I had the most wonderful dream” he said, “but it was just a dream, wasn’t it?”
But was it???...
