Why do we use toddle?
We use Toddle because it helps everyone stay connected and involved in the learning process. For parents, Toddle makes it easy to track their child's progress, communicate with teachers, and receive important updates. For students, it provides a simple way to access and submit assignments, set learning goals, and work on projects with classmates. Enable Student Access First
First, log in on the computer
For your child to access this is done by logging in to Clever, using their BMS Gmail account. For helping logging into Clever check out here
Once they are logged in to Clever, locate the Toddle App on your Clever Portal. You will then come to this screen and can access the Clever option.
Navigate Toddle web as a Student
Once logged in to Toddle it will bring you your home page, like this one.
Your class will be at the bottom under my class with your teacher's name. Clicking here will take you to your class stream where you will access assignments, which can also be found on the right of the homepage.
It is a good idea to explore this to help things get familiar outside of class time, ideally before the first day of class. You can use this video tutorial on how to navigate Toddle on the web, and if you need help during class, your teacher is always there!
The Toddle Student App
After you are logged in via the web, you can also access Toddle Student from the app, which is available on the AppStore and the Google Play store.
The best way to sign in here is using their school Gmail, by clicking on the Gmail icon, shown here in the red box.
If you have a Clever badge, you can use this login option by scanning it using your QR code scanner. If you would like some help getting your clever badge, you can use this support article.

Once signed in, you will come to your Toddle dashboard, which looks fairly similar to your child's version. If you have more than one child with us, all your children will be visible using the drop-down menu shown in this image.
Familiarizing yourself with your version of Toddle also puts you on track to stay connected with your child’s learning journey at BMS. Here is a video tutorial on how to navigate Toddle on the web as a family member.
The Toddle Family App
As with the student version, once you have logged into the web version of Toddle, you can download the Toddle Parent App from the Appstore or the Google Play store.
You can then get logged in using the credentials you set up when making your account using the web version.
Main Toddle features
We recommend taking some time to familiarise yourself with the ins and outs of toddle. It is the best way for you to keep up to date with what is going on in your child's class and all the great things that they will do while learning with us!
It is also the best way of communicating with your child's teacher. You can message them directly if you have any questions or concerns you want to chat about- our teachers are always willing to listen and help out when they can!
Notifications
Click on the bell icon on the top right corner of the homepage to view all the notifications you have received as a parent or the ones that your child has received. These notifications keep you in touch with all your child's learning activities
Announcemnets
As well as notifications, another way to keep up to date with your child's school life is through announcements. These have more to do with happenings at the school like school events and field trips, but can also be from your child's class teacher for class-specific updates
Attendance
Using Toddle you will be able to view your child's attendance for every day of class. Having consistent and engaged attendance is important because it ensures students are engaged, connected, and consistently participating in their learning. If your child is going to be absent, let us know via call or text so we can be marked accordingly, and please let us know if something is marked incorrectly.
Timetable
You can then review your timetable, to see when your classes are. Viewing your child's timetable helps you stay informed about their daily schedule, making it easier to support their learning and keep track of important classes and activities.
Progress summary
Progress summaries are a live overview of your progress, that populates as your teacher helps you progress with your learning. This is not a report card but more of a collaborative tracking of your learning progression.
Progress reports
The progress report is more similar to a report card, giving a more detailed view of academic progress over a specific time. At the start of the year, this section will be empty, but will have a report after the first term is over, at the appropriate date as seen on our calendar. Here is how to review progress reports at the end of the term, but let us know if you need any help with this.
To-do list
You can also view your child's upcoming tasks from your home page, under the to-do list. It shows all tasks and assignments including upcoming tasks, past-due items, and assignments without due dates. You can look at this in more detail by going to view all.
Messaging
One of the best features of Toddle is it allows you to communicate directly with your child's teacher through the messaging section. If you want to discuss any academics or share anything you think would help your child get the most out of learning with us, this is the best place to go about it.
Class stream
The class stream is a central hub where teachers and students can post updates, share announcements, and engage in discussions. It's where you'll find all your upcoming tasks, deadlines, and evaluated assignments, helping you stay informed and up-to-date with class activities.
Unit planning
Your teacher will gradually share the units that they will be teaching with you. It is a good idea to go through them and review the summary, standards, key understanding, and essential questions.
Submit your work
When your child has a task due, they need to submit your work, this can be done in the Class stream or the To-do list, by clicking on a task. If they need help with this, reach out to their class teacher and they will be more than happy to help them out!
Student Transcripts
Toddle provides fast, auto-generated, standards-aligned student transcripts that include all courses, GPA, grade scores, standards completion, habits of mind, teacher comments, and portfolio samples.
