What to bring on race day
In addition to typical race gear, here are some additional things to consider:
Snacks!
Race skis, tuned and waxed
Lunch that kids can access and eat independently since they may be going in to eat at a non-typical lunch time and/or parents may be on the hill volunteering.
Layers and hand warmers. There is often a lot of waiting around outside at the start and it's important that the kids stay warm before getting in the start gate. For extra cold days, consider bringing an extra jacket for your kiddo at the start or to put on at the finish in case their layers don't get carried down.
Free skis! Race days can sometimes end early or there can be windows of time between race runs where kids can get in some extra runs.
