Task C: Journey Maps

Why Use Journey Maps?
Journey maps help give context to a community health challenge as they frame the desired behaviour as a series of actions/steps /experiences for our community members. Outlining these steps helps us to think systematically about our community’s experiences and uncover more opportunities for improving the interactions they have with specific touchpoints along the journey.
How to Create Journey Maps
GOOGLE SLIDES VERSION: Make a duplicate of this presentation deck called "EXAMPLE_Session Deck+Personas+Journey Maps" (linked) and modify the provided templates to develop a journey for your chosen community health challenge. In the same deck, you will see the session slides as well as the persona slides.
MIRO VERSION: Make a duplicate of this Miro board called "TEMPLATES_Journey Maps" (linked) and modify the provided templates to develop a simple journey for your chosen community health challenge.
If you don't have one already but would like to try, create a FREE Miro account in order to duplicate and use these templates. All you need to do is sign up here with your name, work email address, and password. Go to the FAQ page for resources.
Make sure your chosen challenge is one that can be broken down into a journey of at least 3 “steps” or “phases.” For the workshops, we want to strike a balance between a journey map that is easy to understand and still captures the complexities of the goal.
Optional: If you’d like to confirm where your community is interacting with the healthcare system, list out the main touchpoints in the space below the journey as seen in the CommuniVax example. In our pilot workshop, we included these touchpoints but found that they added an unhelpful layer of complexity when discussing barriers and initiatives.
Example of Journey Maps
The following journey map came out of our pilot workshop and is an example of what your templates could look like if you use the Miro templates!
CommuniVax is a national coalition of social scientists, public health experts, and community advocates who seek to strengthen the community's role in an equitable COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
