How to Create Barriers
From your research, create a list of barriers or things that make it hard for your community to access healthcare or move towards health equity. Add these barriers to the empty boxes in Activity 1 of your Journey Map templates.
Why? In the workshop, participants will be asked to consider these barriers and choose the ones they feel are the biggest or most-hindering to their persona.
How to Create Initiatives
How to Create Initiatives
Similarly, create a list of initiatives or things that make it easier for your community to access healthcare or move towards health equity. Add these initiatives to the empty boxes in Activity 2 of your Journey Map templates.
Why? Participants will be asked to consider these initiatives and choose the ones they feel are the most impactful or have the most potential to resolve healthcare issues.
Tip: View the list of barriers and enablers that we developed for our pilot workshop. Notice how the list is long, and that the barriers are framed in simple language — Try to phrase them in a way that is recognizable and easy to understand. Avoid using medical or political jargon.
