JS Production

We are so excited to announce that the Junior School musical for 2026–2027 is Trolls Jr! The show follows the overly optimistic Trolls, constantly with a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have Trolls in their stomach. 

This is an amazing show with so many opportunities for solo singing and speaking and a great way for students to build confidence, collaborate with others and experience the magic of theatre.We hope to see lots of students in Grades 3-5 participate in this brilliant opportunity.

Production is open to EVERYONE! Students who are trying production for the first time, who would love a smaller role or who have other school commitments can join the ensemble or makers group. Anyone can be in these groups and there are no auditions or entry requirements! Simply sign up through SchoolsBuddy before the CASE term starts.

This year, students can participate in ONE of the following ways:

• MAKER : Create costumes, sets, and props.

• ENSEMBLE : Dance and sing with friends on stage!

• CREW (Grade 5 only): Learn about lights, sounds, and backstage magic!

• PRINCIPALS : Develop acting skills and perform on stage.

Note: The only auditioned groups are Crew and Principals. 

If students wish to participate as Makers or Ensemble, they simply need to sign up through SchoolsBuddy before the CASE term starts.

Makers & Ensemble: Two production CASE days per week:

• Wednesday 3:20-4.15. 

• Thursday, 3:20-4:15

This schedule allows them to participate in other CASE activities during Term 1!

Tech Crew: ONE production day per week:

• Thursday, 3:20-4:15

This schedule allows them to participate in other CASE activities during Term 1!

Principals: Three CASE days per week 

• Tuesday, 3:20-5:00

• Wednesday 3:20-5:00

• Thursday 3:20 - 4:15.

Principals need to commit to rehearsals during Term 1. They can join another CASE activity on Fridays, but Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are reserved for production.

Students in Grade 5 who are interested in Tech Crew need to complete an application form. They can apply to be one of the following roles:

• Sound (Music, Sound desk, Microphones)

• Lighting

• Stage management
