Prolonged leave of absence must be sought by a written petition to the Registrar through the Dean. The petition must state the reason for which the leave is desired and must specify the period of the leave, which must not exceed one (1) academic year. Clearance shall be required from student who files application for LOA.
Only a maximum of one (1) year can be applied at a time. This translates to two (2) consecutive semesters. A student can extend his/her previous LOA Application for a maximum of one (1) year and on a case-to-case basis. A student can continuously on leave for a maximum of two (2) years. A student on LOA needs to be readmitted on or before its approved period ends; otherwise, he/she shall be considered AWOL. It is the responsibility of the student to inform his/her instructors/professors and the College on his/her intention to be officially on leave.

How to apply for Leave of Absence
The student must report to the Guidance and Counselling Office to undergo necessary interview regarding the application for a leave of absence.
A student who wishes to be officially on leave must submit aan application for leave of absence to the College Dean of his/her intent to go on leave of absence indicating specific period on or before the set deadline.
The College reserves the right to approve or disapprove the student’s application.
The student must have his/her LOA application signed by the College Dean and must keep a copy of it.
The approved LOA application must also be filed at the Office of the Campus Registrar.
A student who has not returned after five (5) years of absence from the University will be accepted for enrollment provided that he/she will enroll as a first year student.
