Stoddard Elementary utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to actively engage students in learning. Students work collaboratively to review content, examine their reasoning, and engage in cognitively complex tasks. Students purposefully practice skills, strategies, and processes which are based on the NE State Standards.
To meet the needs of our diverse learning population, teachers provide differentiated instruction. This is accomplished through small and large groups within the classroom and through our Title 1 and Special Education programs. Stoddard also offers a well-rounded enhanced education with exposure to art, physical education, music, technology, and quality literature.
Community involvement is vital to instruction through various programs such as Junior Achievement, Bank in Schools, NE Extension Office, Foster Grandparent Program, Distance Learning with ESU, and Fire Safety Program. Teachers extend instructional learning through a variety of field trips in the community, such as Homestead National Monument, Beatrice Fire Department, Beatrice Community Hospital, NE State Capital, and Morrill Hall.
