South America

The fourth, and final, nine weeks are spent entirely on South America. South America is comprised of thirteen countries and we break those down into three sections; Caribbean South America, the Andes and the Pampas, and Brazil. Brazil is the 5th largest country in both land area and population so it receives its own section. It is also unique in that its official language is Portuguese as opposed to Spanish. Many cultural trends we study throughout Latin America hold true in South America. There is also a group project in which students work together to research and share specific information about a country in South America. Below are various assignments and resource materials for South America.
