What is the Power of YET?

In essence, the phrase means a realization that some things are worth waiting for, and those things take work. It's not always easy, but the power of this small word allows for success.

The power of YET teaches students:

  • that they can learn

  • that learning takes time and effort

  • that results come from hard work

  • that giving up isn’t an option

AS A PARENT... WHAT CAN I DO?

  • Use reflective questions (What went well? What can we improve on? How did we handle the changes that occurred?)

  • Ensure students know they can ask for help!

  • Remind students that speed isn't always the best way to learn

  • It's okay to fail, get up and try again

  • Praise the process, not just the outcome

  • Set goals, and know they can change!
