Our 5th graders are beginning their second reading unit which is on Biodiversity in the Rainforest. During this unit the students will be reading: The Most Beautiful Roof in the World by Kathryn Lasky, Seeds of Change: Planting a Path to Peace by Jen Cullerton Johnson and The Great Kapok Tree. They will read to build knowledge about the rainforest and analyze the author’s craft in narrative writing to build proficiency in writing first person narratives about the rainforest.
