I am Ms. Rodny and this is my eleventh year teaching Visual Arts at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. I received my bachelors degrees in studio art and in history from UMASS Boston and my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt). In addition to being a teacher I am also an artist and one of my favorite things is to show my work in progress to my students and get their feedback and suggestions.
I am always learning from my students who bring so much creativity, passion and new ideas to our communal creative art studio. What I love the most about teaching is the opportunity to create possibilities for my students to find success in a subject that a lot of them don't have a lot of experience in. I find that a small success in art class can be used to achieve bigger success in other academic subjects and life outside of school. I love giving my students tools they can have and use and develop for the rest of their lives.
