Boston Public Schools has had a wonderful relationship with BoSTEM of United Way. Over the past couple years, BoSTEM has dedicated time and resources to providing free STEM field trips to middle school students and teachers, professional development for BPS teachers on WIDA, paid for middle schools licenses for Defined Learning, and has helped organize and sponsor STEM Week events.
COVID can't stop BoSTEM!! Since the pandemic began, BoSTEM has been providing families, students, and teachers remote resources such a STEM Chats, STEM Panels, and Asynchronous activities for at home or in the classroom. With the help of Boston After School & Beyond, the two organizations of United Way have helped to organize STEM partners to support schools implementing remote instruction and after-school programming. We are so thankful for their partnership and support!

Picturing Women Inventors is a series of eight posters that explores the inventions of 19 highly accomplished American women. Astronauts, computer pioneers, and businesswomen join athletes, engineers, and even teenagers in this remarkable group of inventors. Ideal for classrooms or other learning environments, the poster exhibition also comes with curriculum material developed by Smithsonian educators at the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation.
