Participants will have the option of receiving 3 graduate credits upon completion of the course, paid for by the GE grant. The course designed for classroom teachers will feature Earth & Space Science, Engineering, the MA STE content standards to be implemented this year by the teachers. Both courses will require participants to complete informal assessments throughout the course and a formal summative project at the end.

Culturally & Linguistically Sustaining Practices (CLSP & CRIOP): With the support of the Office of Opportunity & Achievement Gaps, the BEES initiative supports that all educators focus on creating classrooms cultures that are culturally relevant, acknowledge and support all students, and is antiracist. We are recommending that educators participate in the CLSP professional learning the Office of Opportunity Gaps will be offering on the pillars of the continuum. This PD will introduce to the CRIOP (Culturally Responsive Observation Protocol) which will be used by BEES coaches and can be used amongst colleagues to ensure that classrooms are safe spaces for all students.

Remote Teaching Strategies : BEES Coaches will be offering pedagogical professional development district wide in collaboration with the science department, to all BEES teachers, and to the individual schools that they are working with. Coaches will use input from teachers, principals and observations to determine individual school needs, and work together to determine the best method of delivery.
