4th and 5th Grade Projects

During the summer of 2019, I first learned of the term "Digital Storytelling" while attending ISTE in Philadelphia. The wheels began to turn, and I started to devise how this concept could happen at Yealey. Two teachers, Andie Clark (5th grade) and Celeste Dunlap (4th grade), decided to try it with Craig.

Before we taught actual content, we attempted a series of "All About Me" assignments. They learned how to work in Scratch, WeVideo, and how to make digital timelines with Mr. Dunlap. Click here to see some Scratch museums.

In the spring, it was time to put those digital storytelling skills to work. Click the links below to see more.

Of course, COVID brought all sorts of crazy hardships to education. From January through March of 2021, I was able to take 23 high-achieving 5th graders to work on early American history projects.
