2nd Grade Amazon Videos

When I started teaching at Yealey, I was told about the massive Amazon rain forest that second grade creates. Tina Zureick had been doing this massive project with her core extension class, in conjunction with reading Afternoon on the Amazon by Mary Pope Osborne. The students each select an animal or plant from the Amazon rain forest, research it, create a paper version of it, write a paragraph about it, and make a short video about the animal. Mrs. Zureick asked me to help with the video, which we did for a few years. This was an excellent way for me to teach greenscreening to the students.

Here are some pictures of the rain forest in the hallway. I have to admit that I have very little to do with what you see here, but it gives an idea of the final project.
