The Empowerment Factory OPPORTUNITIES~! See below...
The Pawtucket Prevention Coalition is seeking interested youth to participate, ideally 2. These individuals would represent the youth voice of the coalition & participate in a wider regional youth group located in Woonsocket which would meet probably quarterly.
The coalition meets on the last Tuesday of each month (except July) at 3:30pm until around 4:45/5pm. Community service hours will be given to the involved youth. There will be multiple other community service hours available at various events throughout the year, like the St. Patrick's parade, Drug Take Back days, the Red Ribbon Rally, the World No Tobacco Day Poetry Slam, and much more. Youth who volunteer for this current availability will be primary candidates for induction into the Pawtucket Teen Hall of Fame in June.
Please contact Diane DuFresne at diane_dufresne@yahoo.com or 401-663-4947 and let Rhonda know if you apply! Thank you!

Let me know if you are interested and I can put you in touch with the program director.
The program is a wonderful opportunity to gain hands on experience with animals (animal care, feeding, cleaning, socialization etc.) while also spending time with our summer campers ages 8-11 years old. We have a few themes and dates for camp and I can include them below. If students are interested in volunteering we would just require an in-person shelter tour and we also have mandatory staff training June 23-27th.

VOLUNTEER IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY TO SHOVEL SNOW THIS WINTER!!! - COMING SOON!
2024 Senior Snow Shovel Program
Student volunteers can protect the health and safety of older residents by participating in this program. It can be a real physical strain for seniors when shoveling snow on their property. Shoveling can cause strain on the heart, back, and negatively impact certain medical conditions, especially for those over the age 60 and over. Like last year Mayor Donald R. Grebien is again bringing back the city’s free snow removal program for seniors “who need more help than most,” in removing snow from their walkways and main driveway frontages that abut sidewalks, and drive ways abutting the streets. The city’s commitment to this program is deeply rooted in the belief that fostering intergenerational connections and supporting older residents during the winter months is not only a practical necessity but also a heartwarming way to strengthen the community and intergenerational bonds between young students and older city residents.
