GIRLS WHO CODE:
I am thrilled to share that applications are now open for Girls Who Code’s Pathways summer program!
Pathways is a free, virtual program that empowers high school girls and non-binary students of all experience levels — including rising 9th graders, graduating seniors, and returning participants — to explore AI, Game Design, Cybersecurity, and more, while learning how to build tech for good. The program is entirely flexible in how participants choose to learn and requires no prior coding experience. Students complete courses at their own pace over seven weeks, from June 29 to August 14.
Beyond coding, students gain real-world insights through Partner Events with leading tech organizations, connect with peers through Girls Who Code’s private Discord community, and join optional Student Hours for live support. Participants earn a certificate for each completed course and join Girls Who Code’s lifelong alumni network, gaining access to mentorship, internships, and career opportunities in tech.
Students can apply by February 25th for priority consideration. The application closes on April 10th.
Could you pass along our flyer and share this email with your team so interested students can apply? We would love to meet them this summer!
Best,
Truc

CENTRAL FALLS YOUTH KAYAK PROGRAM:
I'm excited to announce that our Central Falls Youth Kayak Program is back for the season, and we are now accepting bookings for field trips. This is a great opportunity for students to enjoy an outdoor experience on the water, right here in their home of CF.
In addition to school trips, we’re also hosting Family Kayak Days this summer which is a special series of days where students can come kayak with (or without) their families. For the Family Kayak Days, all participants must call to register at least one week in advance of their preferred date.
As always, the CF Youth Kayak Program is completely free for Central Falls youth!
Please help spread the word to your teachers, students and families, and let us know if you'd like to reserve a field trip day for your school or program.
Looking forward to another great season on the Blackstone River!
Thank you,

ACTIVISM / ADVOCACY / INTERNSHIP!:
I am the Internship Director at TurnUp, a 501(c)(3) non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to increasing youth civic education, empowerment, and engagement. We were featured in Forbes as the standout non-profit organization.
I am reaching out to invite your students at Blackstone Academy Charter to apply to our free Civics and Activism Remote Internship. We have been working with high school students year round since 2019 and we are excited to bring this invitation to students at Blackstone Academy Charter. Here is the application link.
The internship's format is tailored to accommodate the ever fluctuating commitments and responsibilities of your students. Our program is fully remote, offers rolling admission and has a flexible time frame and schedule. Your students will have the opportunity to grow into more capable and responsible citizens and to develop their professional skills. Students join remote teams that are energized by students from around the country who work on amplifying youth civic engagement. Along with our unique curriculum, peer to peer learning and expert speakers deepen their experience.
The program is free and the hours students commit can be counted as community service hours. TurnUp is authorized to give out awards and certificates, including The President’s Volunteer Service Award. The internship has also been invaluable for dedicated interns to extend the impact of their learning and growth into earning college letters of recommendation and for bolstering their resumes.
We would like to invite your students to apply. The application link is here at bit.ly/tuinternship and the deadline for applications is rolling.
Here are a few links to learn more about our program and to a flyer to share with your students: a flyer, a detailed description of our program, and our website.
If you have further questions, I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about the program. Please feel free to sign up to join an information session with me here. We would be honored to be placed on your list of recommended internship opportunities.
Sincerely,
Nancy Shapiro, Psy.D
