Sportsmanship

Because young people respect and emulate coaches, it is important that Manogue coaches be a positive influence on the student-athletes they work with. Those who have participated under the leadership of our coaching staff should be better for having done so, and coaches should never place the value of a win above that of instilling the highest desirable ideals and character traits in their student-athletes.

Adherence to the BMCHS Coaches Code of Ethics, and to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association statutes and Citizenship Through Sports Program principles will be expected from all BMCHS coaches.

Ejection Consequences/Procedures

COACHES

  • An ejected Coach must leave the premises of the contest (Defined in NAC 385B.822) in a timely manner. Officials are to note this on their ejection report and depending on the circumstances, the coach may be subject to further sanctioning depending on the severity of the situation as reported by officials. If the coach refuses to leave, the official has the authority to forfeit the contest.

  • With the ejection, the Coach is suspended for the next scheduled contest and is not allowed to be on the premises at the next scheduled contest. This means an ejected Coach cannot be at the next scheduled contest for warm-ups etc., and then leave when the contest begins, and that they cannot return to the playing area when the game has concluded. Doing so may result in an additional ejection.

  • An ejected Coach must complete NFHSLearn "Teaching and Modeling Behavior” Course before he/she becomes eligible to coach in any future contest.

PLAYERS

  • When a Player is ejected, they are to remain on the bench. If the Player causes further problems, they may be asked to leave but must be supervised.

  • With the ejection, the Player is suspended for the next scheduled contest.

  • By NIAA rules, and ejected Player is allowed to be on the bench at the next scheduled contest, but not in uniform, and not allowed to participate in warmups or to be introduced with the team.

  • An ejected Player must complete NFHSLearn “Sportsmanship” Course before he/she becomes eligible to participate in any future contest.
