The AT will make the decision to call EMS and will personally make the call or assign a responsible person to make the call and begin the emergency response process. A map of campus should be provided to local emergency response teams to aid in the response of an emergency. Please see map located at the bottom of the EAP.
Chain of Command:
The AT will assess and maintain leadership of the emergency plan until the arrival of EMS. The AT will utilize the team physician, athletic directors, security officer, coaches and qualified student support staff as needed. If asked to assist, please perform directions as given and communicate if there is failure or inability to complete those tasks. If the AT is not present the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach is in charge until the arrival of the AT or EMS. One exception is the presence of an away team physician or AT (who is responsible for their team). Please follow their instructions until the arrival of the home AT or EMS.
