Requirements for School Attendance
Proof of all immunizations is required for all new students enrolling in a Binghamton school, regardless of grade. Under section 2164 of the New York State Public Health Law, all children enrolling in and attending a school, a day care center or any preschool program must be immunized against diphtheria, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and Haemophilus influenza b. Minimum requirements include:
Grades 6, 7, 8
Diphtheria and Tetanus toxoid-containing vaccine and Pertussis vaccine (DTaP/DTP/Tdap) - 3 doses
Pertussis vaccine booster (Tdap) - 1 dose
Polio vaccine (IPV/OPV) - 3 doses
Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR) - 2 doses
Hepatitis B vaccine - 3 doses
Varicella (Chickenpox) - 2 doses
Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY) - By Grade 7: 1 dose
