Bullying Statement

Dignity for All Students Act

The Dignity for All Students Act prohibits acts of harassment and bullying, including cyberbullying, and/or discrimination, by employees or students on school property or at a school function, including, but not limited to, such conduct based on a student’s actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender (defined to include gender identify or expression) (Education Law 12(1)).

As East Middle School Students and Staff:

• We will not bully others

• We will try to help students who are being bullied

• We will try to include students who are left out

• If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school or an adult at home
