The Mentor Portal serves as a tool for mentors to verify the attendance of students participating in internships or projects. The Mentor Portal is a public site, meaning that mentors do not need to log in to the portal to verify student attendance. This also implies that you don't need to account for the mentor count when determining the number of customer community licenses for your organization.
The Mentor portal is also a Salesforce Experience site. Here’s a quick rundown of the steps you will be doing to set up the Mentor Portal.
The initial step in establishing your Mentor portal is to create a Salesforce Experience Site. This is the where you’ll design and build your portal’s user interface using the components provided in the ImBlaze package.
Setting up Public Site Access Settings allows mentors to access the portal without requiring a login.
In this phase, you’ll create data sharing rules so Mentors can view and approve time log records and also answer survey questions.
Turn off the welcome emails to this site, since it's a public site and mentors are not required to login.
After setting up your site, you need to activate it in order to make it accessible to end users.
