The National Book Week in the Philippines is annually organized by the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI). It began in 1934 to encourage reading good books and was “designed to sell the public library to the community by focusing the attention of the people on its resources and the extent and nature of its services” (source: http://plai.org.ph/national-book-week/). This year's theme is "Magbasa. Mangarap. Magdiwang!”
