Dear UCC School Families:
All Wisconsin students in grades 3-8 will be participating in Wisconsin State Forward Testing from March 17 - April 23. State assessments are required by state and federal law.
The Wisconsin Forward Exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do, in order to meet grade level expectations and be on track for future learning.
Subject Areas Assessed:
English Language Arts (Reading & Writing) - students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Science - students in grades 4 & 8
Social Studies - students in grades 4 & 8
Test Administration:
Forward testing is facilitated on each students chromebooks at school in their classroom
Students chromebooks need to arrive at school FULLY CHARGED and students will need wired headphones for each exam session
Students will complete one or more subtests daily during the testing period
Student that are absent on testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window
Assessment Impact:
Student performance on this assessments will NOT affect their grades.
Exam results will be used to help our staff make determinations regarding your child's grade level placement, support services needed, and our school curriculum
Family Support:
To ensure your child performs their best on this important exam, please help them with the following
SLEEP: Make sure your child goes to bed ON-TIME, and get a full night of sleep
EAT BREAKFAST: Prepare your child a healthy breakfast before school
ARRIVE ON TIME: arrive to school on time to ensure your child is ready for testing
POSITIVE MINDSET: remind your child to stay calm, focused, and think POSITIVELY during testing
PARENT SUPPORT: encourage your child with positive words of support and affirmation
