This program proudly recognizes and awards outstanding high school juniors for their exceptional academic achievement, leadership, noteworthy extracurricular involvement and strong demonstrated interest in HPU.
Current junior in high school
If submitting test scores:
3.45-4.0 GPA (unweighted, 4.0 scale)
Evidence Based Reading & Math SAT Score between 1220-1600
ACT Score between 25-36
If not submitting test scores:
3.6-4.0 GPA (unweighted, 4.0 scale)
Leadership and achievement in one or more of the following activities: an area of academic interest, community service, the arts, athletics, entrepreneurial endeavors, or international adventures
Junior Scholars have the unique opportunity for non-binding early acceptance to High Point University and will receive an initial $2,500 scholarship per year to HPU, totaling $10,000 over four years. If an admitted applicant is eligible for any HPU merit-based scholarships in excess of $2,500 per year, the higher scholarship will be awarded in its place. The Junior Scholars Scholarship is contingent on the student enrolling at High Point University.
Students accepted into the Junior Scholars program will be honored at a Junior Scholars Luncheon during a fall Open House on HPU's extraordinary campus. Junior Scholars with completed applications who also attend the Open House will be notified of their acceptance at the Luncheon.
