NGSS Data

The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) were adopted by the Connecticut State Board of Education in November 2015, and in spring 2019, children took the NGSS Assessment for the first time.

The NGSS Assessment is administered to students in Grades 5, 8 and 11 and uses real-world science applications and questions requiring students to show that they can use science and engineering practices to demonstrate their understanding of science content.
